The Day the Music (server) Died...

mcroftThat day was Wednesday. Also the day I got a root canal. The server problem was worse.
Dead power supply, and $100 to get a used replacement. We considered our options, and decided to get a Mac mini instead. It's a small, low power box and it should be significantly faster for the apps we're using than the circa 2000 G4 that it's replacing.
So
new mini-> webserver
webserver->mailserver
mailserver->music server
Yeah, I've got a weekend of work. possibly two. Good thing I like doing this stuff.

Date: 2006-10-28 09:10 pm (UTC)I've never seen a Mac Mini. The last time I got to play with a Mac of any kind was, oh, 15 years ago, at Brooklyn College.
(Waiting for the chorus of "Paul get a Mac" to start ;) )
