The name is an experiment. The classical reference is twigged, the PDQ Bach reference has been noted, but (as of now) the obscure gamer reference is uncommented upon.

Benedict fit the sort of courtier I intend to play quite nicely, carrying the sort of religious connotations I had in mind.

Okay, I just turned on Firdausi's gimmick. (And to my neverending agony, my reply to Fyodor, composed in all ignorance of what Firdausi's gimmick would be, ALMOST but not quite fits it!)

Doubtless the all-knowing Empress will catch on immediately...

I have a terrible urge to post something along the lines of "Oh no! Look out for the -- ouch." in response to Sallan's thread.

It is a bad, bad urge and I refuse to give in to it. :)

(Though a smart player could turn it against me, for that matter.)

That's definitely what They'd call a push mechanic (almost literally, really). The turn is pretty easy. "Firdausi, are you OK?"

In the Improv "Yes, And..." model, it's good.
