Oddness on 6th Street
Mar. 17th, 2008 09:48 amGinger and I attended at least some of the festivities of SXSW for four of the five (or six or seven) days, giving Sunday a miss. This involved being on 6th Street (at least some of the time every night. For SXSW, they close 6th between Brazos and I-35 each night (not just on the weekends, which is apparently normal.
I was apparently pretty approachable, in ways I am not used to.
I was apparently pretty approachable, in ways I am not used to.
- Some random chica and her friend came up to us between the two Emo's and hit me in the butt, once, with a drumstick.
- On the same street, someone (who I never saw) reached out and ran his/her fingers through my hair.
- A leather-and-spikes punk with about 50 2-inch tall hairspikes on his head high fived me and asked me 'how's it goin?'
- A sorority girl high-fived me in the street the night before that.
- Some little guy tried to weave behind his girlfriend to get out of the way of oncoming traffic and bounced off me.
