Date: 2007-07-08 12:34 pm (UTC)It replaces three devices in my pocket with one that's smaller than any of them, it does things that none of the three did at all, I can program for it myself if I want different functionality, and it's good and intuitive at what it does.
I don't need a phone, video iPod, and Palm Pilot in my pocket. I'd stopped carrying the Palm long ago.
I can use google maps from anywhere and get directions on the fly. I can administer my mail server.
That said, it's not life-changing. Just life-simplifying and improving. If you don't need what I need, it may not be right for you.

What I said to Elizabeth is basically my experience so far. I hear that Bruce and Karin each got one.
I agree with the reviewer who compared it to the first iPod model (which we also had).
