Waiting for Competitor to call back with info, but our customer is at their site, so I can't just blow it off.

There's only so much entertainment I can get from Microsoft fake children's books (with sexism! see pages 6-8).

I was thinking "The Daddy buys the Mommy a Home Server because then maybe she'll give him that BJ he's been whining about."

*laugh* I suppose I'm all in favor of interpretations of children's books that involve BJs, but that wasn't my interpretation.

In fact, it's almost a contradictory message: you have the stereotypical "women as sexual gatekeeper" message, but then you have the anti-stereotypical "women who would appreciate a technological gift" message.

I'll also mention that the child learning to use the server is female. Well, I suppose that requires the assumption that everyone with a ponytail is female. :)

Dad does still control the family finances, even if Mom wants a server. So possibly a step forward! Or not.

That's another interesting interpretation. Maybe Mom wanted the server, but wasn't sure she wanted to spend the outrageous premium HP was charging, and so Daddy bought it for her as a gift.

Either way, I doubt it will become the next great feminist manifesto.

Anyway, I'm mostly just arguing with you because I'm waiting for an installer to finish. :)
