A note about iPhone

Sometime in the first week with your iPhone, you will be asked to join an open wireless network named Linksys.

Do so.

You will then have access to 12.223% of all wireless access points in the continental US.

I saw a woman on the subway with an iPhone the other day. I hated her. I hated her so much. Especially since she was using her iPhone while sitting down on the rush hour subway, while I stood on my aching feet. Hated her.

I have confirmed that it is possible to transfer my existing wireless number to Cingular, so I could get an iPhone and not have to change my number. Now I just have to keep reminding myself that I can't afford to buy the phone AND break my contract with Verizon. Argh! Want! Now!

Every time I see "Linksys" in my list of available networks, I smile. "Netgear", though less common of late, has the same effect.

Now, if only I could figure out why the hell I can't sign onto the City of Austin downtown wireless mesh...
