A friend just pointed out that [T]he spikes on the end of Stegosaurus' tail now have an official name, The Thagomizer, suggested in a Far Side cartoon by Gary Larson. Or so says The National Museum of Natural History.

You may have already known that, especially if you're into dinosaurs.
